Contrary to everyone’s expectation, this World Cup is turning out to be relatively low scoring. In the next match, Pakistan will be taking on the Lankan Lions on 7th June, at Bristol. Both the teams won their last games and will be looking to maintain their winning form. Pakistan defeated the host by 14 runs whereas Sri Lanka won against Afghanistan by 34 runs.
Both the teams didn’t have a great start to the tournament as Pakistan was exposed to the short balls by West Indies, and Sri Lanka suffered a one-sided 10-wicket defeat against New Zealand. Pakistan will be favourites to win this fixture as far as their recent records are concerned.
Pakistan will not be looking to change their winning combination. The top order has been decent so far, but they need to convert the starts into big scores. Mohammad Hafeez scored 84 runs in the last match which would be a big positive for the team.
The team will be hoping that Shoaib Malik and Asif Ali put up a better show this time as they only scored eight and 14 runs respectively. Mohammad Amir has been the star bowler for the team picking five wickets in two matches.
Probable XI for Pakistan:
Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Mohammad Hafeez, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Asif Ali, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz, Hasan Ali, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Amir
The Lankans might also not make changes to their winning combination. Bringing in Nuwan Pradeep was a great decision as he took four wickets, and also was awarded the MoM. Kusal Perera opened the innings in the last match and scored a quick 81 of 78 balls.
The matter of concern for the team would be the reduced form of veteran Angelo Mathews and Kusal Mendis. Both the players have failed to score in two matches. Also, Thisara Perera has not been in his best and will need to buckle up fast.
Probable XI for Sri Lanka:
Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Perera, Lahiru Thirimanne, Kusal Mendis, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Thisara Perera,Isuru Udana, Suranga Lakmal, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Pradeep.

There are 90% chances of rain tomorrow, and the match might be shortened seeing the conditions. The pitch is batting friendly and teams chasing have won ten out of 17 times here. DLS method has to be kept in mind. Whoever wins the toss should elect to bowl first.
