We are just one step away from IPL 2019 finals, and it’s the Chennai Super Kings going on against the young team of Delhi Capitals. DC has risen against everyone’s expectations and reached this far in the tournament, whereas CSK had been the top favourites to win this year but lost to the Mumbai Indians in the Qualifier 1.
CSK will be in search of redemption after the Qualifier 1 loss to the MI. DC, on the other hand, had a close encounter in the Terminator 1 against SRH in which they came out victorious in the last over, thanks to some exceptional batting by Rishabh Pant.
Both the teams will be putting in everything they have to reach the finals, and it’s going to be one hell of a thriller.
Chennai Super Kings
CSK faced their third consecutive loss against MI this season and second at home, courtesy of the horrendous display of batting by them. Aside from the 96-runs inning, Shane Watson has been unable to get going in this season of the IPL. He needs to stand up on the big stage tonight. Apart from that, Ambati Rayudu and MS Dhoni looked in solid touch in the last game. They will be willing to carry forward the moment in tonight’s do or die fixture.
Even though there was not much to defend, the bowlers did an excellent job to create some problems for the MI batsmen. Imran Tahir took two wickets in his four overs while Deepak Chahar was a bit expensive as he went for 30 runs in his 3.3 overs.
CSK is expected to play the same XI.
Probable XI for CSK
Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Murali Vijay, MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir.
Delhi Capitals have played a match at Vizag which might be an advantage for them heading into this game. Prithvi Shaw and Rishabh Pant played classic knocks in the last game to bring the team one step closer to the finals. Their batting line-up looks in great touch and has been performing exceptionally well so far.
Ishant Sharma has been bowling exceptionally well in the first six overs and also to the end of the innings, and has covered up for Kagiso Rabada’s absence. Amit Mishra and Keemo Paul bowled brilliantly in the previous match and would be looking forward to repeating the same.
Probable XI for DC
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Colin Munro, Axar Patel, Sherfane Rutherford, Keemo Paul, Amit Mishra, Trent Boult, Ishant Sharma.
Dream XI Prediction:
- Wicket-Keeper: MS Dhoni(VC)
- Batsmen: Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Shikhar Dhawan(C), Shreyas Iyer
- All-rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Sherfane Rutherford
- Bowlers: Imran Tahir, Deepak Chahar, Ishant Sharma, Keemo Paul
Vizag is not one of the high scoring grounds. The average score here is 155 only. The bowlers tend to get some help from the wicket, especially the spinners, towards the second half of the game.
Both the team would love to chase as they have some world class finishers in their side.
