The Kolkata Knight Riders will be taking on the Rajasthan Royals to keep their chances of making it to the playoffs alive on 25th April at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The game will begin at 8 PM local time.
After losing their last match to SRH, KKR needs to win all their remaining games to make it to playoffs. The team started the tournament on a positive note but lost of five consecutive matches which forced them to tumble down the table.
Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have had a similar fate. They now need a miracle to get to the playoffs as DC brutally defeated them in the previous match despite Rahane’s century.
There is not much expected from bowlers at this pitch. The boundaries are short, and the bowlers need to restrict to their line and length. To sum up, another high-scoring combat awaited.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata started the season with a bang and made some notable victories thanks to power-hitting by Andre Russell. Now on the verge of missing out playoffs, KKR can’t afford to lose even a single match out of the four games left.
There are not many changes expected in the KKR line-up. However, Kuldeep Yadav may be brought back in place of KC Cariappa. Prithviraj must retain his spot for this game as well. There might be another change for the game as Matt Kelly might replace Harry Gurney.
KKR Probable XI:
Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Nitish Rana, Shubham Gill, Dinesh Karthik, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Yarra Prithviraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Matt Kelly
RR is almost out of the competition this year. The Team which was a balance between experienced and youngsters has failed in every department. Royals have been glued to the seventh spot on points table ever since the start of the tournament.
Steve Smith and Rahane seem to be in excellent touch in the previous few games. However, the results have not been that good. The team management will not be looking for any change in playing XI.
RR Probable XI:
Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Ashton Turner, Stuart Binny, Shreyas Gopal, Riyan Parag, Jofra Archer, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni
Dream XI Prediction:
- Wicket-Keeper: Sanju Samson
- Batsmen: Chris Lynn (VC), Nitish Rana, Shubham Gill, Steve Smith
- All-rounders: Sunil Narine, Andre Russell (C), Ben Stokes
- Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Shreyas Gopal, Jofra Archer
Both the teams are struggling as of now despite a decent start from KKR. The iconic Eden Gardens will be a run haven, and the team bowling first will be at an advantage. Overall, KKR are the favourites despite their dismal performance in the previous matches.
