It’s the second leg of last year’s final at Chennai where the Chennai Super Kings take on Sunrisers Hyderabad. In their previous encounter, Sunrisers defeated SuperKings by six wickets at Hyderabad.
CSK has lost its last two matches against SRH and RCB and would be eager to gain the winning momentum as the playoffs are just a couple of weeks away. SRH, on the other hand, are coming strong off a win over KKR by nine wickets.
The pitch at Chennai has been a spinner-friendly wicket, and dew also plays a role in the second half. Both the teams have quality spinners, and it will be a treat to watch them bowl at Chepauk.
Chennai Super Kings
CSK batsmen, except for MS Dhoni, are having a nightmare as none of the star players have been consistent in scoring. Playing at their home ground, they need to come back strong tonight.
Faf has been excellent so far, except for the last game, whereas Watson has been inconsistent with his form. Also, Raina plays a crucial role for the team, and it would be a delight to watch his score some runs tonight.
Chennai’s bowling has been consistent throughout the tournament. Tahir and Chahar have led the attack from the front and will look to continue the solid run. Playing at Chennai might open the gate for Harbhajan Singh into the XI in place of Shardul Thakur.
Probable XI for CSK
Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Kedhar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir, Harbhajan Singh.
Sunrisers are having a good run, winning two matches in a row and would like to maintain this momentum. Though a matter of concern for the Sunrisers is that it will be the last game for Bairstow of this season’s IPL as he’ll be returning to England. SRH would be looking to win this fixture to move a spot up in the table.
Khaleel Ahmed has impressed everyone with his bowling skills in a previous couple of matches as he has picked up seven wickets in three games he played. Also with Bhuvneshwar finding his rhythm back, it has helped take off the pressure from Rashid Khan.
Probable XI for SRH
David Warner, Johnny Bairstow, Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda, Yusuf Pathan, Shahbaz Nadeem, Rashid Khan, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Sandeep Sharma.
Dream XI Predictions
- Wicket-Keepers: Johnny Bairstow
- Batsmen: David Warner, Faf du Plessis, Ambati Rayudu, Kane Williamson
- All-rounders: Vijay Shankar, Ravinder Jadeja
- Bowlers: Rashid Khan, Imran Tahir, Harbhajan Singh, Khaleel Ahmed
The pitch at Chennai has been spinner friendly, and the same is expected for this match. Team bowling first might get an advantage of chasing with the dew coming on later on. The average score in IPL 2019 at Chepauk is 140.
