As we are at the end of the rivalry week, we move to the Eden Gardens where the Kolkata Knight Riders take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
In the previous encounter, KKR defeated RCB by five wickets where the RCB bowlers were taken down by the wrath of Andre Russell. Russell went on to score 48 off just 13 deliveries. Since then, the dynamics of the tournament has changed a lot, and it would be interesting to see how RCB plays against their biggest rivals.
Kolkata Knight Riders
KKR is coming back after a four-day break, and they’ll be all set to play hard. They lost their previous match to CSK because of which they are still in the lower half of the points table. Chris Lynn and Shubhman Gill have looked brilliant top of the order recently, and they might open for KKR once again.
The bowling department has been decent so far in the tournament, and with Sunil Narine bowling his four overs, this would strengthen their bowling department. Also, Prasidh Krishna has impressed everyone with his speed and ability to pick up wickets at crucial times.
Probable XI for KKR
Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Utthapa, Shubhman Gill, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Kartik, Andre Russell, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Harry Gurney.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB has been the most under-performed team of this year’s IPL so far. They are also coming off a loss to the Mumbai Indians which has almost crucified their chances to qualify for the playoffs.
With both Virat Kohli and ABD coming back into their forms, the top order looks stable. Also, Marcus Stoinis and Moeen Ali have been pitching in some crucial runs lately, when needed.
The biggest problem for RCB has been their bowling. Every team has scored heavily against the RCB bowlers which pressurises their batsmen. However, Dale Steyn has joined the squad, and we might see him in playing XI instead of Mohammad Siraj.
Probable XI for RCB
Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli, AB de Villers, Moeen Ali, Marcus Stoinis, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Washinton Sundar, Umesh Yadav, Dale Steyn/Mohammad Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini.
Dream XI Predictions
- Wicket-Keepers: Parthiv Patel
- Batsmen: Chris Lynn, Virat Kohli, AB de Villers, Shubhman Gill, Nitish Rana
- All-rounders: Andre Russell, Moeen Ali
- Bowlers: Pawan Negi, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prasidh Krishna
Eden Gardens is a wicket where bowlers love to bowl. In the last match, we saw spinners playing an essential role for both the teams and the same might be expected off this match.
This Ground has an average score of 165, which is quite decent in the IPL but with the amount of batting power, both the teams possess, high scores are probably as well.
