We are half way into this season, and still, a lot of drama is yet to unfold. As we enter the rivalry week, we move to Wankhede to witness Mumbai Indians taking on the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the second time this season.
RCB registered their first victory of this season against KXIP at Mohali and will be looking to carry this momentum forward to Wankhede whereas MI lost to RR at this same venue in their previous match.
Mumbai Indians again failed to capitalise to the 96 run start which their openers gave them. This has been a concern for the team since the beginning of the tournament. Both the openers, Rohit and Quinton de Kock, are in good form and have been scoring consistently but the rest of the players need to find their knack.
Jason Behrendorff was only able to impress in his first game, since then, he has just taken two wickets in three games and has gone for an economy of over eight. Mumbai Indians might think of bringing back McClenaghan for Behrendorff.
Probable XI for MI
Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Alzarri Joseph, Rahul Chahar, Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell McClenaghan.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers won their first match of this season defeating Kings XI at their home. The top order of the team looks in a great form. Parthiv has been scoring for the team, and with Virat and ABD coming back in to form, the top-order seems rock solid.
RCB should be concerned about their bowling lineup as their frontline bowlers are not able to pick wickets up at the top. Yuzvendra Chahal and Navdeep Saini have been impressive, but rest of the bowling lineup needs to find their rhythm.
Probable XI for RCB
Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli, AB de Villers, Moeen Ali, Marcus Stoinis, Akashdeep Nath, Pawan Negi, Yuzvendra Chahal, Dale Steyn, Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini.
Dream XI Predictions:
- Wicket-Keeper: Quinton de Kock
- Batsmen: Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, AB de Villers, Kieron Pollard
- All- Rounder: Hardik Pandya, Marcus Stoinis
- Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar, Navdeep Saini
In the last match we did see high scores at Wankhede but also saw some spin in the latter half of the game. It’s a batting paradise at Wankhede and seeing the batting line up of both the teams, I expect a thriller.
