It’s the 27th match of this season’s IPL, and we are back at the Wankhede Stadium where the Mumbai Indians will take on the Rajasthan Royals for the first time this season.
The Mumbai Indians stand firm at the third spot of the table with 8 points in their bag whereas the Rajasthan Royals had their 5th loss of this season against the Chennai Super Kings. MI lead 10-8 head to head against RR.
The pitch at Wankhede has been batsmen-friendly so far and the same to be expected for this match as well.
The Mumbai Indians won a last over thriller against the Kings XI at Wankhede in their previous match where the Captain for the game, Kieron Pollard, scored 83 runs of just 31 balls. Other than Pollard, none of the batsmen was able to impress much which might be a matter of pressing concern for the team.
Rohit Sharma will be back into the playing XI returning from the injury, and he’ll provide stability required in the top of the order.
Mumbai Indians’ bowling was not up to the mark in their previous match, and the same should not be repeated. All the frontline bowlers went for an economy of over eight which is a significant concern for the team.
Probable XI for MI:
Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Alzarri Joseph, Rahul Chahar, Jason Behrendorff, Jasprit Bumrah.
The Rajasthan Royals suffered a last-ball loss to the Chennai Super Kings at Jaipur. None of the Rajasthan batsmen was able to capitalise on the start they got which they will be willing to make up for, tonight.
Rajasthan bowlers did a great job against the Chennai batting lineup, and the same would be expected from them against the mighty Mumbai. Ben Stokes’ form has been a concern for the team as he has not been able to perform with both the bat and ball.
Probable XI for RR
Ajinkya Rahane, Jos Buttler, Steve Smith, Manan Vohra/Rahul Tripathi, Ben Stokes, Prashant Chopra, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat.
Dream XI Predictions
- Wicket-keeper: Jos Buttler
- Batsmen: Rohit Sharma, Steve Smith, Ajinkya Rahane, Keiron Pollard, Suryakumar Yadav
- All-Rounder: Hardik Pandya
- Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Shreya Gopal, Jason Behrendorff, Jorfer Archer
Wankhede has been a batting paradise, and the same is expected for this match. With the dominant batting lineups both the teams have, we might encounter a big scoring game. The average score at Wankhede is 170.
