The Golden State Warriors take on the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center on Tuesday night.

The Warriors are coming off a victory against the Los Angeles Clippers where they won the game by 131-104. Curry led the Warriors squad with 27 points alongside Durant, who scored 16 points with seven assists. Draymond Green nearly notched a triple-double with 10 points 10 rebounds and nine assists. Demarcus Cousins scored 12 points and nine rebounds, while Klay Thompson scored 12 points. Quinn Cook and Kevon Looney did well from bench scoring 10 and 14 points respectively.

The Pelicans are also coming off a victory against the Sacramento Kings where they won the game by 133-129. Ian Clark scored 31 points. Elfrid Payton scored 26 points in the match dishing 14 assists, and he was well supported by the team’s centre, Jahlil Okafor who scored 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Kenrich Williams scored 12 points, and Christian Wood scored 14 points with seven rebounds.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are hot right now, sauntering towards the playoffs. They are on a five-game winning streak and winning 11 of their last 14 games. They are currently averaging 117.8 points per game as a team which is second this season only after the Bucks and also lead the league in shooting percentage with 49.1 field goal percentage. They also lead the league in Assists(29.5) and Blocks(6.5) per game.

The players are doing well individually too. Curry is averaging 27.6 points with 5.3 assists per game while Durant is averaging 26.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Klay Thompson is averaging 21.6 points per game, and then there is Demarcus Cousins who is averaging 16.1 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.

Now there are only two games left in the regular season, and both are road games. They will look to improve their regular season record before entering the playoffs.

New Orleans Pelicans

Pelicans had a rough season this year with lots of ups and downs. We saw the trade rumours surrounding Anthony Davis since the mid-season and how much it affected him and the team.

They have lost 6 of their last eight games and will be looking to end this season on a good note by getting a win in their previous game of this season as they are already out of the playoff contention. Despite being out for many games, Anthony Davis is averaging 25.9 points and 12 rebounds while Julius Randle is averaging 21.4 points and 8.7 rebounds. Pelicans have too many injuries on the roster now and will be aiming to be having a healthy squad this offseason.

Predicted Starting Lineups:

Warriors: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, DeMarcus Cousins

Pelicans: Ian Clark, Elfrid Payton, Jahlil Okafor, Kenrich Williams, Christian Wood

Prediction Time:

Warriors are going to sit Iguodala(left toe soreness) and Bogu(rest) for the game against the Pelicans. Durant was also given rest, but he denied and said that he wanted to play, so he will play tonight.

On the other hand, The Pelicans are full of injuries on the roster and will be an easy target for the back-to-back champs, Warriors. We may see a good duel between former Warrior Ian Clark against his former teammate Curry.

Warriors have won 6 out of their last eight road games, and we expect this one to be an easy win for the Dubs.
