The Royal Challengers Bangalore are ready to take on the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
RCB is currently placed at the bottom of the table after having lost all the four games they have played, whereas KKR has won 2 out of their three games and have maintained their slot in the top four.
Royal Challengers lost to Rajasthan Royals in their previous match by seven wickets where Shreyas Gopal’s spin dismantled RCB’s top order.
KKR, on the other hand, lost to Delhi Capitals in a super over in their last encounter. They have won against top teams like Kings XI and Sunrisers Hyderabad and will be hoping to defeat RCB at their home.
KKR leads RCB in head-to-head having won 14 games of 23 played between two teams.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
Royal Challengers are still waiting for their first win to come. They were outplayed in 3 out of 4 matches in all departments which is a big concern for the team and will try to rectify them in the upcoming fixture.
RCB did make some changes in their previous match by bringing in Marcus Stoinis and Prayas Burman, but that didn’t go their way. They might think of resting Moeen Ali and Sherman Hetymer and bring in both the foreign bowlers, Tim Southee and Nathan Counter-Nile who can assist Umesh Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal in the bowling department.
As far as batting is concerned, only Parthiv Patel has been a consistent scorer for the team. AB de Villers performed well in one game but miserably underperformed in the others.
It is high time for Virat Kohli to set up, take the responsibility and lead from the front.
Probable XI for RCB:
Parthiv Patel, Virat Kohli, AB de Villers, Akashdeep Nath, Marcus Stoinis, Shivam Dube, Tim Southee, Nathan Counter-Nile, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Siraj.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Kolkata Knight Riders played their last match four days ago which means they had enough time to practice and strategise for their next games. With Sunil Narine entirely fit he’ll make his way into the playing XI and should open. Nitish Rana might open with Narine as Chris Lynn has not been able to score well so far.
The middle order for KKR is solid with the likes of Dinesh Kartik, Shubman Gill and Andre Russell hitting the ball well. Russell has been the star performer for the team so far, and the same will be expected from the Jamaican tonight.
KKR has a good bowling unit and should keep the same in the next match. Prasidh Krishna has the second number of most dots so far in this years’ IPL and might create problems for the top order of RCB. Kuldeep Yadav and Piyush Chawla are also playing their part well.
Probable XI for KKR:
Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik, Shubham Gill, Andre Russell, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Lockie Ferguson.
Dream XI Predictions
- Wicket-Keeper: Parthiv Patel
- Batsmen: Nitish Rana, Virat Kohli, AB de Villers, Shubman Gill
- All-Rounders: Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Marcus Stoinis
- Bowlers: Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna
Chinnaswamy Stadium has short boundaries which means that we’ll encounter a high scoring match seeing the batting power both the sides have. RCB has hosted ten games here against KKR where the visitors have won 6 out of them.
KKR might look a stronger side at present than RCB, but RCB might overturn the tables in their favour by defeating KKR and registering their first win.
RCB to beat KKR.
