It will be a battle for the top seed in the western conference when the Denver Nuggets meet the Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena on Tuesday night.
Warriors are coming off a big victory against the Charlotte Hornets where they secured a home win by 137-90. Curry led the pack with 25 points supported by Klay Thompson who scored 24 points and Quinn cook who scored 21 points off of the bench. Durant had 11 points with nine assists along with Draymond Green who scored 10 points and nine assists.
The Nuggets, on the other hand, lost their last game against the Washington Wizards by 95-90 at home. Jokic scored 23 points with 14 rebounds, and Paul Millsap scored 13 points and 16 rebounds. With them, Will Barton scored 10 points, and Jamal Murray scored 12 points. However, the Nuggets were not able to cross the line.
Golden State Warriors
Warriors are getting themselves together when they need the most, and this will be an important match for them as it will help them secure the top seed in the West. Nuggets are currently 2nd and Warriors on top of the western conference and if the Warriors take this one, this will make the path entirely clear for the Warriors for the top seed in the Western conference and then they can think about rest strategy or ‘Load Management’.
Warriors have a healthy roster right now with only Iguodala being questionable in this match due to left toe soreness. Dubs are performing well winning 7 of their last ten games and will be eyeing for a second straight win at home tonight.
Nuggets have split their last 6 games and will be looking for a statement victory at the Oracle Arena and also increasing their chances for the top seed in the west. Their previous game, in which they had to face a tough loss, cost them in terms of race to the top seed and will be looking for a win against the top seed itself.
If the Nuggets are able to score a win here tonight, it will not only increase their chances for the top seed but also boost their confidence for the play offs.
Predicted Starting Lineups:
Warriors: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, DeMarcus Cousins
Nuggets: Paul Millsap, Will Barton, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Gary Harris
This is a must win for both the teams as this is a decider game for the top seed in the west. Both the teams have met 2 times before and Warriors won the last matchup by a good gap. Warriors, on an average, wins by 23 points when playing against the Nuggets this season.
I don’t expect this to be a different game and Warriors are expected to play like the Warriors they are and grab a win and top seed in the west tonight.
