It will be the Kings XI Punjab taking on the Delhi Capitals at their home, Mohali. KXIP lead head to head clashes against DC by 13-9.
Kings XI won their previous match here at the same venue against the Mumbai Indians on the same day when Delhi Capitals defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in a Super Over. KXIP’s squad will be a little relaxed seeing KL Rahul get some runs under his belt in the last game. The team looks in great shape, and the top order has been performing exceptionally well for the team.
Delhi Capitals have impressed everyone with their bowling standards. In the last match, we witnessed some sheer bowling by Rabada in the super over. Also, Prithvi Shaw fell a run short of his 100 but played a significant role in the team’s victory.
Kings XI Punjab
Kings XI Punjab will be looking to maintain their winning run. Mayank Aggarwal has been the standout performer for KXIP. Also, Murugan Ashwin bowled economical overs and took 2 crucial wickets of Yuvraj Singh and Suryakumar Yadav in the last game, fixing his spot in the playing 11.
The only concern for the team would be their pacers. Both Shami and Tye went for runs in the last match. Also, Punjab is still not able to find the perfect team combination where they can fit in the sixth bowling option. As the tournament progresses they will have to find a solution for the sixth bowler.
KXIP Probable XI:
KL Rahul, Chris Gayle, Mayank Aggarwal, Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller, Mandeep Singh, Hardus Viljoen, Ravichandran Ashwin, Murugan Ashwin, Andrew Tye, Mohammad Shami.
Delhi Capitals have emerged as a team with quality batting and bowling. Prithvi Shaw played one hell of an innings in the last match. With the likes of Shaw, Pant and Ingram the teams’ batting line-up looks great.
With Chris Morris back with the side, Delhi Capitals have increased their middle order strength and also added a world class bowler. Both Harsha Patel and Sandeep Lamichhane was impressive in the last match picking up two and one wickets respectively.
DC Probable XI
Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Colin Ingram, Hanuma Vihari, Chris Morris, Harsha Patel, Sandeep Lamicchane, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra.
Dream XI Predictions
- Wicket-Keeper: Rishabh Pant
- Batsmen: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Chris Gayle, Mayank Aggarwal, David Miller
- All Rounders: Chris Morris, Ravichandran Ashwin
- Bowlers: Murugan Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Hardus Viljoen
The pitch will be batting friendly as it was in the last game here, and so we can expect a run fest even tomorrow. All the four top-order batsmen for the Kings scored well in the match against Mumbai Indians and will be willing to continue their form tonight again.
The Capitals, on the other hand, will be playing their first match at this venue and will depend on the young guns to fire again.
I am expecting another big show by the “Universe’s Boss”, Chris Gayle and giving this one to the Kings at their home ground.
