It will be a fantastic encounter when the defending champions CSK will host RR at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The game will begin sharply at 8 PM IST.
Chennai Superkings, led by the captain cool MS Dhoni, have won all their matches till now and will try to maintain their lead on the points table.
The unlucky Rajasthan Royals have, unfortunately, lost their previous two matches even after scoring a mammoth 198 in the 2nd match. The bowling line-up is a concerned department for RR and will be the topic of the hour for them.
The pitch at Chennai is a paradise for the batsmen. Spin, however, plays its part in the second innings slowing down the flow of runs. With humidity playing its role, Chepauk is going to witness a close encounter.
Batting line-up has always been a strong point for CSK. Equipped with big hitters like Raina, Watson and Bravo, Chennai is a nightmare no team wish to face. David Willey will be out for the rest of the IPL citing family issues, but that should not affect CSK’s winning momentum.
Dhoni would not like to tinker much with the previous line-up but considering a spin-friendly surface at Chennai, Shardul Thakur may be replaced with Mitchell Santner. Imran Tahir will play an essential role in this spin-friendly game.
CSK probable XI:
Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Deepak Chahar, Harbhajan Singh, Imran Tahir
Rajasthan Royals have been unfortunate in the season so far. The batting line-up is the strength of RR with big names like Ajinkya Rahane, Steve Smith and Jos Buttler. The issue for RR lies in the form of pace attack who have conceded plenty of runs in both the matches. Even a big shot like Ben Stokes has been ineffective so far.
Rajasthan Royals will try to move on with the same playing XI. However, RR might consider to include a spinner for the match at Chennai due to the assistance of the pitch for the spinners.
RR probable XI:
Ajinkya Rahane, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi, Krishnappa Gowtham, Jofra Archer, Jaydev Unadkat, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni
Dream 11 predictions:
- Wicket-keeper: Jos Buttler
- Batsmen: Suresh Raina, Steve Smith, Sanju Samson, Shane Watson(C)
- All-rounders: Dwayne Bravo, Ben Stokes, Mitchell Santner
- Bowlers: Harbhajan Singh, Shreyas Gopal, Imran Tahir(VC)
CSK spinners have taken 10 wickets in first two matches which is an alarming sign for RR.
Rajasthan has a strong batting line-up and Sanju Samson scoring the first century of Vivo IPL 2019.
Considering the track at Chepauk, expect some fireworks in this star-studded match. Going by the current form of the two teams, Chennai holds a higher position.
