Mumbai Indians has been facing some issues in the bowling department lately. Lasith Malinga did not play in the first game due to international duties but has joined the team yesterday after getting a go-ahead from the Sri Lankan board. With him, Jasprit Bumrah injured his left shoulder in the last game and is questionable for tonight. Their other two bowling options are Australia’s Jason Behrendorff and New Zealand’s Adam Milne. Behrendorff has not yet joined the team whereas Milne has been ruled out of the IPL due to a heel injury.
Mumbai has finally made a move and replaced Adam Milne by Alzarri Joseph, the pacer from West Indies who made his debut against India in 2016.
Joseph’s T20 record is not praiseworthy yet as he has played just seven T20 games, picking up nine wickets. His best figures go back to CPL in 2016 where he picked up four wickets giving away 41 runs. Although his stats are not that impressive, and he will be playing his first IPL, he is undoubtedly talented and will strengthen Mumbai’s bowling department.
Mumbai will be willing to bounce back after a loss to the Capitals in the last game as they visit the Royal challengers tonight. Mumbai looks a better team on the field as they have all the department covered now. With Malinga, Joseph and Bumrah among the bowling options, MI is all set to go ahead.
Bangalore, on the other hand, are in search of redemption after getting bowled out for just 70 runs in their first game. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers need to fire tonight to secure their first win of the season.
Gear up for tonight, It will be an exciting encounter!
