It will be the Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on the Rajasthan Royals at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The Sunrisers played their first match four days ago which means they have had a lot of time to think and plan. Also, this gave enough time for Kane Williamson to recover fully and be back on the field for the side.
Both the teams lost their first matches in a similar fashion where it looked that win was in their hands. SRH lost to KKR, thanks to Russell who scored 47 in just 19 balls and took the match away from Sunrisers. KXIP defeated RR after Buttler got out due to Mankanding by Ashwin and the rest of the team simply crashed after that.
Both the teams will be aiming to give their best and win their second match. Let’s have a look at their probable XI.
Probable team for SRH :
Sunrisers had a good start in the last game with David Warner and Jonny Bairstow opening the innings but with Kane Williamson back from injury Bairstow might be dropped for the next match. SRH might go with Warner and Saha as openers. If Kane Williamson plays, he’ll come as the first down for the team.
SRH has an excellent middle order. Vijay Shankar was terrific in the last game scoring 40 of 24 balls. With the likes of Yusuf Pathan, Manish Pandey and Shakib these guys can come in at the end overs and score quickly.
Albeit SRH has a good bowling lineup on paper, they were blown away by Russell in the previous game. SRH might have some concern regarding their death bowling. They might bring in Khaleel Ahmed for Sandeep Sharma who was too expensive with an economy of 10.5. They’ll have to figure out how to minimise the run flow in death overs.
Predicted Playing XI:
David Warner, Wridhiman Saha, Kane Williamson, Vijay Shankar, Manish Pandey, Yusuf Pathan, Deepak Hooda, Shakib-al-Hasan, Khaleel Ahmed, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan.
Probable team for RR:
The top order for RR looked pretty impressive in the last game with both the openers giving an excellent start to the team. Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler should open the innings for RR. Followed by Sanju Samson at first down.
One of the reasons why RR lost their previous match was the downfall of their middle order. RR lost seven wickets for just 24 runs in 8 overs. After returning from the ban, Steve Smith looked good and will come to the same position. RR might go with the same middle order. Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi, Krishnappa Gowtham and Shreyas Gopal or can go for a change bringing in Manan Vohra in place of Rahul Tripathi seeing the pitch will be helpful for the batsman.
Jaydev Unadkat went for runs in the last match at an economy of 14.7. RR might think of replacing him with Varun Aaron and giving him a chance. Both Dhawal Kulkarni and Jorfer Archer were excellent with the bowl.
Predicted Playing XI:
Ajinkya Rahane, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, Rahul Tripathi/Manan Vohra, Krishnappa Gowtham, Shreyas Gopal, Varun Aaron, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jorfer Archer.
