CSK visited Delhi yesterday, and the Delhi fans lost their loyalty because of the great man- MS Dhoni. There was an instant in the match when pant was on the batting crease, and Delhi’s crowd was cheering for Dhoni, shows the greatness of our own, Mahi.
Poor captaincy by Shreyas Iyer and lack of experience in the middle order were some of the reasons for Delhi’s loss against CSK yesterday. If your best bowler gets only two runs to defend in the last over, then you can’t expect anything less than a miracle to happen.
DC started their innings on a good pace on the slower wicket, and they were going good with Shaw dealing in boundaries, and Dhawan was holding the wicket from the other end. CSK managed to put some brakes on DC by dismissing Shaw.
After Shaw’s dismissal, Iyer and Dhawan failed to continue the same scoring rate during the middle overs. DC seemed over-dependent on Pant in this match. Pant came and played some good shots but was caught on the fine leg. As a result, DC failed to capitalize in the death overs and ended with a total of 147 only.
Watson started the innings with a bang. There was nothing left for DC to fight on. But Akshar Patel’s 15th & 17th over of 2 runs & 1 run respectively complicated the things for some time. WIth 22 needed from 18, CSK had MS Dhoni on the crease to carry the game home.
Iyer gave the 18th over to Keemo Paul who got hit for 11 runs and 19th to Mishra who gave nine runs. Not using Rabada in that situation might have given the opposition an advantage. There were only two runs left for Rabada to defend in the last over, not enough to stop CSK from crossing the line.
This win was cheery on the cake for CSK on Jadhav’s birthday. “Aadhar Udhaar” the new name given by CSK to Jadhav on official twitter handle of CSK.
