Where: AT&T Center — San Antonio, TX
Watch Live: ABC
The San Antonio Spurs will be hosting the Golden State Warriors on Monday Night at the AT&T Center.
The Warriors have not been at their best lately, having split their last 12 games, but their previous two road wins against the Rockets and Thunder have given them some confidence coming into this one.
Despite Durant being out, Dubs had a blowout win against the Thunder with a scoreline of 110-88. This was the lowest scoring match for the Thunder team this season.
On the other hand, Spurs are having one of their best times of the season as they are on an eight-game winning streak. They are the hottest in the league right now and as healthy as they possibly could be. They beat the Trail Blazers last night by 108-103 with seven players scoring double-digit points. Not only their starters did a good job, but the bench did an excellent job as well.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors are on a road trip and have won both the games till now. They will be eager to win their third in Texas tonight.
Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson are in good form as they combined for 56 points out of the total of 110 in the game against the Thunder. Demarcus Cousins did a great job in the game against the Rockets scoring a season-high 27 points and was continuing to do so in the game against the Thunder until he suffered a knee injury.
The Warriors are now short of 2 of their star players and starters, Kevin Durant and Demarcus Cousins. Both are questionable in the game against the Spurs on Monday night. This may be a tough game for the Warriors as they are meeting with the Spurs who are on a hot eight-game winning streak.
Having Cousins questionable for the game, Warriors coach, Steve Kerr have immediately called Andrew Bogut for the game against the Spurs. He was supposed to be making his season debut against the Pacers on 21st but was called immediately following Demarcus Cousin’s injury.
San Antonio Spurs
Spurs have battled and won against one of the top tier teams in the eight-game winning streak, like Bucks and Nuggets, and will be meeting top seed in the west, Warriors tonight.
Not only the starting five contributes to the team’s efforts but the Spurs bench also supports as much. LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan are in fabulous shape and rest of the squad is helping them as much.
Predicted Starting Lineups:
Warriors: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andre Iguodala, Draymond Green and Kevon Looney
Spurs: LaMarcus Aldridge, DeMar DeRozan, Jakob Poeltl, Derrick White, Bryn Forbes
Having two of their star players out of the starting lineup, it will be an uphill task for the Warriors to go against the Spurs in this road game. However, we can expect Kevin Durant to make a comeback tonight and lift the team with a fantastic scoring night.
I will give this one to the Warriors after a comeback performance from Durant.
