The IPL 2019 is set to debut on March 23, 2019, at the home of the defending Champions Chennai Superkings. It is a significant platform for Players around the world to showcase their talent and seal their spots in respective National sides before the World Cup kicks-off in June 2019.

#1 Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians

Also known as Super-Indian Derby, this is considered as one of the top T20 rivalries in the world.

CSK and MI have played three finals in which MI has won 2 times while CSK won once. Also, MI and CSK have won 3 IPL titles each.

While CSK had never failed to reach playoffs, MI had a tough time during the initial seasons.

#2 Chennai Super Kings vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

This Rivalry can be considered as the South Indian Derby citing the political differences between the two states regarding Kaveri river. While former Indian Captain MS Dhoni leads CSK, RCB is captained by the present skipper of Indian National side.

#3 Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

When IPL debuted in 2008, the Inaugural game was played between KKR and RCB in which Brendon McCullum slammed 158 runs striking the ball in every corner of the ground.

KKR led by Sourav Ganguly destroyed Rahul Dravid’s RCB. Since then, viewership peaks to top whenever a match between these two is scheduled. KKR has won 2 IPL titles and is the 3rd most successful IPL franchise while RCB made it to two finals but never won.

#4 Chennai Super Kings vs Sun Risers Hyderabad

A rivalry between the Old and Young Franchise, this might not be seen as a cult rivalry among the teams as CSK has won 9 out of 11 matches between them. Since its debut four years ago, SRH has proved its mettle by beating out every possible team in IPL except for Dhoni-led CSK.

IPL 2018 was a comeback for CSK which topped group stages and beat SRH in all four encounters between them. SRH also led the group stage but lost to Chennai in the Finals after a big knock by Shane Watson.
