The Lakers take on the Raptors for a Thursday night clash at the Scotiabank Arena.
The Lakers are sitting on the 11th place in the Western Conference, well below the 8th place LA Clippers right now. The road for them will not be easy as they take on the second-ranked team in the Eastern Conference, Toronto Raptors.
Let us breakdown all the ins and outs ahead of this fixture tonight.
Los Angeles Lakers
The lakers were expected to be reborn after the All-Star break, but we witnessed the exact opposite. If we take into account their last 12 games, they have won just three out of them. So there is no doubt Lebron James is on a verge of missing the playoffs for the first time after his first two seasons in the NBA.
Their last game against the Bulls will give them some confidence coming into this game, but that does not guarantee their improving condition. They have not only lost guys due to injuries but have also been struggling to find the winning rhythm. They are a mix of unbalanced guys who are not at all supporting the team’s cause.
The Raptors have not been in the best of their forms but have still maintained the winning momentum. If we take into account their last 15 games, they have lost just four out of them.
The Raptors suffered a heartbreaking loss against the Cavs in their last game. The game also saw a fight between Serge Ibaka and Marquese Chriss, resulting in a suspension for both. However, the Raptors will be fresh coming into this game and will be willing to dominate the degenerating Lakers’ squad.
Predicted Starting Lineups:
Lakers: Kyle Kuzma, LeBron James, Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, and Reggie Bullock.
Raptors: Kawhi Leonard, Pascal Siakam, Marc Gasol, Danny Green and Kyle Lowry.
The Raptors are a better team in terms of both quality and form. I can’t trust Lakers now and giving this one to the Raptors.
