MS Dhoni aka “Mahi” is arguably one of the finest cricketers that have ever played the game. He is the only captain to have registered all the three major championships organised by the ICC to his name. His long list of achievements and his never die attitude is the reason why his name is engraved in the history of the Indian Cricket.

#1 Most Dismissals by a Wicketkeeper

With 124 dismissals in 168 matches, this record is currently held by the new hit-man of the Indian team, wicket-keeper batsman, Dinesh Karthik. With that, Dk also has 94 catches and 30 stumpings to his name.

Not very far behind, Captain Cool has 116 dismissals in his account with 83 catches and 33 stumpings. This contest will be enticing to watch this season.


#2 Most matches by a Player

The Dhoni-Raina duo has won games not only for the Chennai SuperKings but also for team India. However, they both will compete against each other for a record this IPL season.

The only player to have played more games than Dhoni is none other than his CSK counterpart Suresh Raina. Raina is one match ahead of MS Dhoni with 176 IPL matches.

#3 First Indian to hit 200 sixes

MS Dhoni holds the Title of the most sixes hit by an Indian player with 186 sixes to his name. Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma follow him next on the list with 185 and 184 sixes respectively.

Known for his signature helicopter shot, Dhoni has time again parked the ball out of the ground, and the same is expected this year from Mahi. It will be interesting to see which player hits that “200” mark first.
