After a fantastic 3rd ODI and a series win for India, it’s time for India to test their bench strength. On the other side, New Zealand will play for dignity. The game will be played at the Seddon Park in Hamilton tomorrow.
Team India’s stand-in captain Rohit Sharma will play his 200th ODI for the country.
What to expect?
In the last 3 ODIs at Seddon Park, the pitch has been excellent and suitable for chasing a score of around 290. Spinners have done well, and the ground will offer some assistance for them again. Also, there is no prediction of rain.
New Zealand has been no competition for India til now. Even Kayne has agreed to the fact that the Indian side completely outplayed their team.
On the plus side, Willamson has scored runs but has not been able to convert the start into a big one. Also, Tom Latham is the only one who played well but with minimal support from the other side except for Taylor, who played well in the last ODI.
Martin Guptill has been out of form lately, and so does Ish Sodhi who may be dropped because of his poor performance in the last two games.
New Zealand will play for their pride after a series loss. They don’t want a clean sweep before the world-cup which will not be good for the team’s morale. They will go in with full strength tomorrow.
Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Kane Williamson (capt.), Ross Taylor, Tom Latham (wk), Henry Nicholls, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult
After a series win and in the absence of Kohli, India can give chances to players on the bench. Kohli has praised Shubham Gill and he might be getting chance to debut for the Indian team. If India pulls off another victory tomorrow, then 4-0 lead will be India’s biggest win against New Zealand in their 53 years of touring. So it’s an excellent chance for India to create history.
M.S Dhoni has been seen practising in the nets so he may play tomorrow.
Rohit Sharma (capt), Shikhar Dhawan, Ambati Rayudu, Shubham Gill, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (wk), Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal
